The website is packed with audio, video, interviews, features and live webcasts from major festivals like WOMAD.
The Celtic Cafe Non-commercial and non-profit site devoted to Celtic music, dance and culture. They also have a nice e-group. Description: The Celtic Cafe is your online resource for Celtic music, dance, artists and so much more!
CIA - The World Fact Book 2000 The Webmaster hates to admit it (He is anti NATO, and a non militarist), but this is a wealth of concrete information, populations, ethnic groups, and background information about the countries.
Dirty Linen. American magazine celebrating roots/traditional/folk/world music. (The site is designed by Cliff Furnald at Rootster/RootsWorld). The name of the magazine refers to a Fairport Convention tune.

Music Traditions Online magazine for "Traditional Music troughout the world." Description: "Musical Traditions is an online magazine celebrating all aspects of traditional music, from all parts of the world.  It contains record, book and tape reviews, articles long and short, discographies, pictures, news and comment, letters, and information about the magazine - its history, plans, policies etc."
MATUSA - MuslimsAgainstTerrorism This is a good place to start if you want to know more about muslims. (Most of the information nowadays in the press isen't objective, this neither, but it gives some ballance.) The site itself is valluable, and it has a lot of informative links. Description: MATUSA was founded in the wake of the terrible tragedy of September 11th by a group of young American Muslims who felt the need to honor the victims by working for peace.

Rootster is a "cultural search tool" with hundreds of links to artists, record labels, artists, photographers and musicians around the world.
It's an extension of RootsWorld,"the online magazine of world music". No introduction needed. The man behind them both, Cliff must be a workaholic, or a real enthusiast.
Womad: World of Music and Art. Womad is founded by Peter Gabriel among others. It is a Touring Festival, it is Workshops, Tours and Educational work. The purpose is: "to promote, maintain, improve and advance education in world cultures, whilst seeking to excite and inform audiences of the worth and potential of a multi-cultural society." 
"World Music Charts published by AFRICA Iwalewa's Worldmusic Magazine". In adddition to charts you will find some good links here. Description: The World Music Charts Europe is compiled by Johannes Theurer on the behalf of the World Music Workshop of the EBU.

World Music Portal A extremely informative site, cowering most of the world. Articles about artists, books, CD-reviews, and other topics.
